Developed by the Germans during World War II, the RSO/01 — short for Raupenschlepper Ost ("Caterpillar Tractor East") — was designed to tackle the harsh, muddy, and snowy conditions of the Eastern Front. Unlike standard trucks that got bogged down in deep mud, the fully tracked RSO proved incredibly reliable, transporting troops, artillery, and supplies where other vehicles failed.
Its simple, rugged design and light weight made it easy to produce and maintain. From towing anti-tank guns to hauling ammunition, the RSO/01 became an unsung workhorse behind German lines.
